Friday, February 17, before 5:30 pm

Guests from outside Duke may park at PG2/The Duke Hospital Garage. Enter at 2223 Elba Street, Durham, NC 27705. (Parking is $2/hour or $8/day) When walking out of the garage onto Elba Street, turn right and go to Trent Drive. Turn right and go down the hill. The Franklin Center will be on the right at the next corner (intersection of Trent Drive and Erwin Road). If walking out of the garage onto Erwin Road, turn left and walk to the next building, which is the Franklin Center. Building entrances are at the far end of the building or the back of the building.

Wesley Nóog is a Brazilian singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and band leader. With a 20+ year career and 7 albums recorded, he is one of the most respected Samba-Soul artists in Brazil today. Since moving to the USA in 2021, Wesley has participated in various shows as a solo artist, singing and playing guitar and cavaquinho or accompanied by a band playing his original compositions, a unique mix of Brazilian samba with American soul, as well as samba, bossa nova, and tropicalismo standards.

Conference participants will have the opportunity to view the exhibit Patrimonio/Heritage in the Franklin Center Gallery. It features a series of drawings on llanchama (Amazonian tree bark) by Peruvian/American artist Renzo Ortega. The artist will be present during the conference reception.
