The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction developed a set of standards for a social studies course titled “Latin American Studies,” which is currently being offered in high schools across North Carolina. In an effort to support educators who are teaching this course, the Consortium has created a Resource Guide, which provides online resources and materials for each of the Latin American Studies standards and clarifying objectives. Resources include primary sources, lesson plans, vidoes, PowerPoints, poetry, websites, podcasts, news articles, maps, databases, and more.
While the Resource Guide was created specifically for the Latin American Studies course, a majority of the resources can be integrated into a number of different high school courses.
