The Consortium in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University and the Latin American Studies Program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte are pleased to announce the inaugural North Carolina Conference on Latin American Studies (NC/CLAS).
NC/CLAS 2019 seeks to bring together scholars, specialists, and graduate students in North Carolina engaged in the diverse and multiple disciplinary domains dedicated to Latin American and Latino/a studies, past and present.
The NC/CLAS 2019 organizers are pleased to invite submissions of proposals for panels to present current scholarship from any disciplinary perspective to address subjects of new research, matters of pedagogy, and address themes of advocacy and policy. Proposed panels may take the form of traditional scholarly presentations, workshops, and round table discussions. Submissions of individual papers will be reviewed and considered for inclusion only if an appropriate thematic placement becomes available.
The theme of NC/CLAS 2019 will be dedicated to “Understanding Complexity in Latin America.” NC/CLAS 2019 will be hosted at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on February 22, 2019-February 24, 2019. Please submit proposals through NC/CLAS 2019. The deadline for submission of proposed panels and individual papers is November 2, 2018. Please inquiries to:
