The Consortium offers courses in Spanish through programs at both Duke and UNC Chapel Hill. Studying Spanish provides opportunities to learn about the language, literature, and culture of Latin American and the Caribbean. Spanish is the mother tongue of approximately 350 million people in 21 countries and it is also widely spoken in many more where it is not an official language.
